While most people in North America and Europe spent July and August focused on relaxing either on a beach or exploring foreign lands, a number of prominent companies rebranded. Among these were several mergers that were finalized, notably Kraft Heinz, LATAM and LafargeHolcim. Facebook and Harman also introduced new logos.

With the completion of their merger, Kraft and Heinz unveiled the new brand identity at the beginning of July for the Kraft Heinz Company. They claim it is now the third largest food and beverage company in North America and the fifth largest in the world.

Facebook launched its new wordmark on July 1st, without any fanfare. At first glance, both wordmarks look identical, but the clearest clue to differentiate the two is the different letter “a”.

LATAM Following the merger of Chile’s LAN Airlines with Brazil’s TAM Airlines, the company unveiled its new name (a consolidation of LAN and TAM) and new brand identity at the beginning of August. LATAM describes itself as the largest airline group in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. The implementation of the new brand identity will begin to be visible in the first half of 2016.

With the merger finalized, the”new” LafargeHolcim was launched in the middle of July. Based in Paris and Zurich, this building materials (most notably concrete) company states it operates in 90 countries around the world, has 115,000 employees and combined net sales of EUR 27 billion (about $31.3 USD).
